Description

An excavated trench at Plakes, Lapithos, with stone walls running across the foreground and in the cut. Several people stand, kneel and crouch in the dig; a man in a white robe holds a long-handled tool, and a wheelbarrow lies on the bank at upper right. Trees and a sloping hillside fill the background.
