Description

Large olive trees with gnarled trunks fill the left foreground, and a rocky mountain slope with pale cliffs rises behind them. Stepped, stone-edged terraces climb the hillside in the middle distance, with low scrub and a few small trees. A small figure of a person stands on the dry, open ground near the bottom centre.

Description, scan 2: Large olive trees with gnarled trunks stand on the left in the foreground, above a bare, stony ground. Behind them a steep rocky mountain face rises diagonally, and stepped terraces climb the slope in the middle distance. A single small figure is visible at lower centre, beside a shrub, and the sky above is pale and empty.
