Description

Low walls of rough stone masonry form the ruins at Vouni, with a shallow pool of standing water in the foreground after rain. Behind them a narrow rail track runs along the top of the walls, carrying a tipping wagon loaded with earth. A tent and several trees stand on the rising ground at the left and back.

Description, scan 2
Shallow water lies in a hollow between low stone walls, reflecting the masonry and sky, and the wet ground in the foreground is muddy. Behind, a line of rubble walling runs along a raised bank, with a small rail wagon loaded with earth on a track at right, and a tree and a canvas-covered shelter at left. Low hills fade into haze on the far right.
