Excavation with stones at the palace at Vouni

Description
A narrow excavation trench runs away from the viewer between high banks of pale, loose soil scattered with stones. At the far end the floor drops into a deeper cut with a dark recess in one side, and dry scrub grows along the rim. Beyond the edge of the cut, a flat expanse of sea fills the upper background.
