Two men dance in the open central area, one in a dark waistcoat and hat, the other in a white shirt and wide dark trousers, mid-leap with his leg kicked up. Behind them two seated men play music beside large cut stone blocks, and a figure sits on a wooden frame at the left. Along the top right, about ten spectators sit on the stone ledge beside wheelbarrows and a spade.

Two men in white shirts and dark wide skirt-like trousers dance facing each other on bare, stony ground. One wears a wide-brimmed hat and dark waistcoat, and a man in a hat and jacket stands at the right edge. Behind them seated figures sit near a cut stone wall, and on the upper terrace a row of onlookers sits and stands beside wheelbarrows and a spade.

A third man in a hat stands at the right, and a figure in light clothing is at the left edge. Behind them, cut stone faces and wheelbarrows fill the excavated cutting, and about a dozen seated men watch from a raised bank at upper right.
