Description

A barren excavated terrace in the foreground holds two long, low stone foundation walls running diagonally across the frame, one in the left foreground and one to the right, both showing cut edges. Beyond them spoil heaps and dug soil lead to a wide valley with hills, scattered trees and a patchwork of cultivated fields under a pale sky.
