Terracotta Minor Plastic Animals, fragment (So.53)

Fragment of a terracotta minor plastic animal figurine from Soli, photographed alone on a dark background — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C00295b. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A broken, pale fragment of a figurine modelled in clay, with a rough, chalky surface and a curved, ear-like projection on the upper edge. The body narrows toward a rounded, blunt lower end, and the surface shows small pits and crumbling at the edges. It is photographed alone against a dark background, filling most of the frame.
