Description

A long excavation trench runs diagonally across the frame. A dark vertical soil face rises on the right, and a pale, flat cleaned surface lies in the centre, with loose stones and rubble along the left edge. Behind the trench, heaps of excavated earth and stone sit on open, flat ground, with fields and low hills in the far distance.
