Description

A man in a light shirt and dark waistcoat bends into a deep trench, working with a pick-like tool. Two people in white head coverings and long pale dresses stand at the far edge beside a jug on the ground. A long-handled shovel stands upright in the soil at upper right, and dry scrubby ground stretches behind under a flat horizon.
