Life and work
- 1888Opened the new Leeds Art Gallery (built from the 1887 Jubilee subscription fund); Harding sought loans for the inaugural exhibition of October 1888, in which John Holmes's collection (with Cypriot antiquities) took part in the museum section.
- September 1889After the Library Committee asked in August 1889 whether Holmes would repurchase his collection (the Council objected), a sub-committee under Harding was appointed in September to decide how to deal with it; Reeve judges Harding played an important role in saving it from rejection.
