Life and work

  1. 1893
In company with 'Herr von Luschan' Ohnefalsch-Richter examined the vases and fragments recently discovered at Sendscherli (Samal), concluding they did not support Herrmann's North-Syrian origin for Cypriot animal-head spouts.

  2. 1893
Conjectured that a broken column-object at a Cypriot site carried a cup, by analogy with a censer he dug up at Senscherli (Sendschirli).

    Ohnefalsch-Richter 1893, p. 166

  3. 1893
Ohnefalsch-Richter found among the objects discovered by von Luschan and Koldewey at Senjerli (ancient Samal, North Syria) close parallels to Cypriot tabular idols with pierced ears; the Berlin Museum holds several Cyprus-Senjerli-type examples.
