Ottoman landowner, active 1868–1869. Lived at Dali (Idalion). Sold to Robert Hamilton Lang; child of Hadji Georgi Styllis.
Life and work
- April 1868A colossal bearded statue (upper half, 3 3/4 ft, about 9 ft whole) was found by workmen in a field belonging to Sotiri near Dali. His father Hadgi Georgi brought Lang the news on a Sunday morning in spring 1868; Lang ran the excavation of the site for some two months and, in his words, recovered not less than a thousand stone statues and statuettes.
