- 1988Bought 8 percent of Stewart Bick's resale share in the mosaics for $390,000 (Hofstadter calls it 'astonishing').
- 1989–1990After Goldberg's lawsuit began he recommended Baker & Daniels as her lawyers and advised a short discovery period; Goldberg later testified she had told him she would withhold $120,000 from the price, which he denied in deposition; he later repaid her note to Merchants Bank and became her creditor (over $1 million).
