    As schoolmaster of Kouklia he told Max Ohnefalsch-Richter that 'Phoenician' inscriptions had been found among syllabic ones at Tschira (Kyra) Philippa; Ohnefalsch-Richter visited the site at dawn and wrote to The Times (18 Oct 1910, dated Kouklia-Palaepaphos, 30 Sept) and to Globus.
