    Left Marseille in September 1849 with F. de Saulcy's expedition (de Saulcy, his son Félicien Henri, Edouard Delessert, a botanist, l'abbé J. H. Michon, and the painters Léon Belly and Léon Loysel); the party called at Cyprus on the way, where they collected terracotta figurines and a statue of an offering-bearer holding a small bull, published by Longpérier in 1855.
