Museum staff
Lennon
fl. 1880–1883
Museum staff member, active 1880–1883. Worked with Charles Henkel and Dickson B. Alley.
Life and work
- c. 1880Henkel testified that, while a sphinx was being restored and given a head, he and Messrs. Alley and Lennon tried to match the head that had come in the box with it; it would not fit. Cesnola came into the room and saw Lennon trying; Lennon said the head was altogether too small, and Cesnola told him not to meddle in business that did not belong to him. The sphinx was then turned over to Balliard.
- December 1883 – January 1884Alley said that neither he nor Henkel nor Lennon, 'all of whom were familiar with the restoration processes', was called to testify before the museum's investigating committee. Lennon himself is not reported as a witness at the trial.
