    After Duthoit left the Dali dig on 10 April, 'le Consul Laffon', Grasset's father-in-law, took him to Nicosia (Duthoit's letter, edited by Foucart-Borville).

    Sent Duthoit six oranges ('present de M. Laffon') on the road to Chrysorroyiatissa, to be forwarded to Mme Viollet-le-Duc.

    Duthoit found the Laffon family no longer at Nicosia: after the death of his last child M. Laffon had left the town for Jerusalem, to live with his son, drogman-chancellor in charge of the French Consulate (the date of the visit is inferred from the 1862 and 1865 span of the letters).
