- 20 July 1848With S. Leigh Sotheby, sold in London the property of 'M. B*** D***', consigned from Paris, catalogued as Egyptian, Greek, Roman and other antiquities, together with Irish antiquities formed by the late Redmond Anthony. Lot 22 (p. 4) was the marble Venus head said to be from Kition, formerly in the Benjamin Delessert collection; an annotated copy in the British Library says it was bought by 'a person called Rutter', not further identified, and the head has not been relocated.
