Life and work

    Named among the elected members of the first Committee of the Cyprus Museum (with E. Bouvill, C. D. Cobham, S. Brown, W. Corby, Demetrios Pierides, Theodore Peristianis and Eustathios Constantinides), appointed after the High Commissioner accepted the founding petition; the High Commissioner chaired, the Archbishop, the Cadi and the Moufti were vice-chairmen.

    Stylianou-Lambert & Bounia (n. 16) place 'Hakki Effendi' with the Mufti under the Cadi to represent the Muslim community of the island on the Committee (Biddulph president; government members Bovill, Cobham, Brown, Corby, Kitchener; Greek community: the Archbishop, Eustathios, D. Pierides, Peristianis).
