Life and work
- 10 September 1867In a letter of 10 September 1867 from Larnaca to the Governor of Nicosia, an unsigned writer states that 'Mr Laffon, the vice-consul of France in Nicosia' notifies a firman allowing excavations throughout the island and asks that the moudirs be told not to obstruct the work done in the writer's name.

- 1868As French consul, in the 'case of the Tricomo farm' accused Luigi Palma di Cesnola of interfering in French consular matters and of trespass on a Frenchman's property and cornering the cotton crop; made the trespass accusation to the representative of the Emperor at Constantinople. Cesnola denied it and informed the State Department.
