Dealer
E. Triantaphyllos
fl. 1900 · Greece
Greek dealer, active in 1900. Dealt at Paris (44 rue Cambon). Sold to Wilhelm Froehner and Joseph Eugène Paul Marguerite de la Charlonie.
Life and work
- 7 May 1900Court-ordered ('vente judiciaire') sale of Triantaphyllos's stock in Paris; Froehner bought the best pieces cheaply, including a vase handle with a black-painted head, a sarcophagus fragment and inscriptions on stone 'said to have been found in Cyprus'. Hellmann, like Froehner, doubts the Cyprus origin because the seller is not otherwise known for Cypriot objects.
