    Mitford, writing to Megaw (St Andrews, 5 May 1952), says he had consulted 'Dunbabin and Cook', who offered two British School at Athens candidates, both of considerable experience and both ex-presidents of the Oxford Archaeological (Society), to work at Kato Paphos beside Jean Bérard's colleague Deshayes; he had £300 earmarked for Paphos wages and excavation expenses.
