    Objected to his student Jacqueline's departure for Cyprus (she arrived in April 1953 as V. Karageorghis's wife) because he did not think highly of Cypriot pottery, which he found 'provincial et laide'. V. Karageorghis adds that by 1965 Dugas's preconceived ideas on Cypriot art no longer held and French archaeologists of all ages were drawn to Cyprus.
