- 1924Local paper called him 'a well-known antiquary and archaeologist' who had gathered one of the finest collections of Greek, Roman and Egyptian antiquities in the north of England; estate valued at £4,491
- 1968–1969Son Benjamin's bequest of the whole Kent collection (c. 150 Cypriot pieces) to Harrogate Borough Council, acceptance announced January 1969
