Life and work

  1. 1927
    With Kleanthis and Dragos, backed the Swedish Cyprus Expedition's negotiations with about 150 farmer-landowners at Karavostassi (Soli) for permission to excavate; he was building the house in which the expedition was to stay. Gjerstad calls him 'the quietly stubborn ignoramus, forever immune to the arguments of his opponents'.
