- 1893Ohnefalsch-Richter credits Prof. Weeren, Director of the metallurgical laboratory, for analyses of Cypriot copper and bronze that led him to divide the copper-bronze period into a copper and a bronze period.

- 1895Ohnefalsch-Richter told a buyer that blue 'metallised' cylinders were artificial copper compositions, on Weeren's finding.
- 1899The Cyprus Museum catalogue cites Weeren (Technol. Hochschule, Charlottenburg) for an iron-oxide implement and the black artificial paste of Cypriote cylinders.
