- 11 March 1865Nieuwerkerke, senator and Surintendant, informed Duthoit that the Minister of the Emperor's Household and Fine Arts charged him to go to Assos to collect antiquities ceded by the Sultan, and on to Cyprus to complete the collection from the 1862 voyage with Vogüé, on Longpérier's instructions.
