History
- 1945Sold 'the greater portion' of the contents of Ditchingham House (the Norfolk home of Sir H. Rider Haggard) at auction. The only recognisable antiquities were Lot 250 ('Large Egyptian ware vase and sundry old earthenware pots, etc.') and possibly Lots 379-400 ('Curios and miscellaneous'). Kiely and Merrillees found no Cypriote object traceable to the sale; Haggard's family knows of none in its possession.
