- 1893Government offices asked Mommsen, permanent secretary of the Royal Prussian Academy, to assess Ohnefalsch-Richter's funding application; imperial funding was obtained in 1893 despite his hostile comments.
- 1894–1895Ohnefalsch-Richter's official Idalion campaign was funded for the Berlin Museums; he described his superior as Dr Bosse, Secretary of State for Public Instruction.

- 1896After 1895 Ohnefalsch-Richter asked for renewed funding; the Ministry refused until he had published 'Tamassos und Idalion'. His last letter to the minister, 11 November 1896, asked for free railway transport for his wife.
