The Cypriot collection
No published count of Cypriot objects found. The museum's director stated in 2012 that its antiquities collections were formed by gift, purchase and bequest rather than fieldwork, and the catalogue states that no object found in Princeton's excavations at Polis has left Cyprus to join the museum's collections. (2012)
History
- 1882Formal establishment of the Art Museum; the director dates the shared history of the Museum and the Department of Art and Archaeology to 1882, and notes that Princeton's antiquities collections in some cases predate the formal establishment.

- 1971Frances F. Jones, Curator of Classical Art at the Art Museum, supplied T. B. Mitford with a note on the stratigraphic context of a sherd from the Kourion shrine or heroon excavation (the level over the steps west of the dromos), giving a terminus ante quem of the mid-first century AD; printed in Mitford's Inscriptions of Kourion.
- 1983–2007The Princeton Cyprus Expedition (University, directed by W. A. P. Childs) excavated Marion and Arsinoe at Polis Chrysochous. Finds stayed in Cyprus; the catalogue says no object found at Polis has joined the Art Museum's collections.
