- 1867A committee (Oppermann, Salzmann, Froehner and others) under Saulcy's presidency set out to found a private archaeological museum in Paris on the backing of Auguste Parent; one descriptive bulletin appeared, the last (quoting M. de Bry).
- 1869In a letter to Froehner of 7 April 1869, a correspondent excavating in Cyprus asks whether anything could be done with the Musée Parent as an outlet for his finds (writer not identified in the passage read).
