- 1983Six-week summer survey of the west-coast waters from Maa to the Lara peninsula by ten archaeologists and underwater geomorphologists under C. Giangrande.

- 9 July 1984 – 7 August 1984Second season between Coral Bay and Lara with six archaeologists and a geomorphologist; seismographic study of river valleys finished, coast profile mapped, fish tanks noted for sea-level evidence. The AR summary adds two bays at Lara planned, over 30 stone anchors recorded, an anchorage on the Maniki islet found and a shipwreck discovered.
