- 27 June 1868W. Froehner met Hoffmann, who at once gave him sale catalogues to write and, in Froehner's account, supplied an income until 1897.
- 1874Hoffmann bought Dr Tsepi's Cypriot collection (a son-in-law of G. Pierides) for 12,500 francs; its fate is obscure.
- March 1890Delestre-Hoffmann sale, 38-page catalogue by Froehner with an 'envoi de Chypre' of 40 numbers; the Louvre acquired a lot.
