  1. 1889–1894
    Its only remaining monk, Kyrillos, controlled the unleased monastery lands and supplied lodging, workers and local information to Ohnefalsch-Richter's Tamassos excavations; the monastery served again as a base in 1890 and 1894.

  2. 1965
    A tomb was discovered accidentally south of Politiko village while the west wing of the monastery was being rebuilt.
