The project
In 2006 a salvage excavation at Agioi Omologites in Nicosia exposed Tombs 47–49. Tombs 47 and 48 were small Hellenistic tombs1. Tomb 49, a larger Early Christian tomb, had been reused as an ossuary, and more than 250 commingled individuals are reported from it1. A bioarchaeological project with CAARI afterwards studied the skeletal remains from the three tombs1.
