The project
In 1885 M. Ohnefalsch-Richter opened two graves at Lakshā, now Laxia, for Dr. Dümmler1. The catalogue of the Cyprus Museum by Myres and Ohnefalsch-Richter calls the site a Bronze Age necropolis and gives no grave numbers1. Schmid discusses Dümmler's 1885 excavations in Cyprus as a group and suggests that they were probably conducted on behalf of the German Archaeological Institute at Athens2. The contents of the graves were in the Cyprus Museum and were later dispersed1.
