The project
A three-week field investigation of surface finds at Kourvellos was carried out in 1969–1970 by T. F. Watkins and Ian A. Morrison for the University of Edinburgh1. Buchholz and Ender report that the two collected and registered 13,500 surface objects of flint, hornblende, jasper and quartzite1. The finds were spread around a boulder massif and a small spring over 15 hectares1. Buchholz and Ender read the assemblage as belonging to a uniform culture rather than to a long occupation with distinct phases1. Where the 13,500 objects are kept is not recorded1.
