The project
In 1966 Michael Loulloupis and A. Christodoulou of the Archaeological Survey Section excavated Tomb C.S. 1564 in the village of Ayios Theodoros for the Department of Antiquities1. Karageorghis's annual account reports abundant Hellenistic I and Roman I-II material, including two Megarian bowls1. Lund, who uses a jug from the tomb in discussing Palm-Leaf Ware, reports that Karageorghis dated the Hellenistic burial to the second century BC from a silver coin of Ptolemy VII dated 132 BC2. The material was kept in the premises of the Archaeological Survey Section1.
