The project
A building floor that yielded Red Polished sherds was found in 1977 at Chiflik, a locality at Arpera.1 The work was a small excavation by students following the practical-archaeology course that Brock University ran at Kition.1
David Rupp directed it, and Vassos Karageorghis, who wrote the notice of the season, is identified in it as co-director.1 The season was reported in Karageorghis's Chronique des fouilles et découvertes archéologiques à Chypre en 1977, published in the Bulletin de correspondance hellénique in 1978.1
