Photographed from above, oxen pull flat wooden threshing sledges across a field of cut straw. A man in a hat sits on a chair on a sledge at the left, guiding the oxen, and a second man in a hat sits on a chair on a sledge at the top centre behind another pair of oxen. Bushes line the upper edge of the field.
