28/5The clearing of the area between the stepped wall and the Karavostasi-cliff has now yielded results. Previously mention was made of a coarsely laid broad ashlar wall which forms a right angle with the stepped wall towards the south. This wall is in fact part of the east wall of a very large building, judging by everything a temple. The long side to the north is formed by the stepped-wall. Naturally what remains is only underground substructures, but with careful excavation the extent of the temple should be possible to establish. The earth layers being removed must of course have lain above the temple's floor; in any case they now lie at a level lower than this. Next to the east wall which will be described later the following finds are made: Inside the S.E. corner on the rock:

Indeterminable iron pieces186186
4 pcs bronze nails, fragm of bronze bowl187187
3 pcs arrowheads of bronze188188
1 spindle whorl of pottery189189
