To this extent the excavation is limited here, the area D1 – D3 E1 – E3. It may be of interest to look under the floor before further Roman earth is thrown up. The floor is broken up first in square E3. It turns out to be a disappointment, as the natural rock is found directly beneath the rammed earth floor. What the devil is meant? Inside-the wall, under the floor, the rock at 1,10 m depth, while under the wall and outside it is found at depth 1,50 (Square D1 and 2)
