Statues and stone in grass, North Africa

Tall upright stone slabs standing in grass, with scattered rubble and a cloudy sky behind them — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn1746. Public domain (CC0).

Description

Several tall, weathered upright stone slabs stand in rough grass, with lower rubble stones at the left and a few distant blocks along the horizon under a cloudy sky. The nearest slab on the right is lichen-covered and rough-surfaced, and a slab on the left has a rounded hollow near its top. Tufts of grass grow around the bases, and the print is mounted on a card with a printed label at lower left and a number at lower right.
