Rock-cut walls with dark openings and recesses in an excavated area, with rubble on the ground in front — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, Csn1745. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A wide view of a rock-cut area where pale stone walls are cut back into the ground. Several dark openings and recesses are set into the walls, and loose stones and rubble lie across the dusty floor in the foreground. A large pale block stands at the right edge, and the ground runs back to a flat, empty horizon under a pale sky.
