Famagusta, landscape view

View across Famagusta with palm trees, low houses and a domed building, with the sea on the horizon — Photograph: John Lindros, Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C10044. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A wide view across Famagusta from a foreground of large, pitted pale stone blocks and dry scrub. Palm trees and flat-roofed houses stand among the buildings, with a domed structure on the right and a ruined building on the left. Beyond the town, the flat line of the sea runs along the horizon under a pale, empty sky.
