Neo-Cypriote limestone statue (Acc 0225)

Back view of a Neo-Cypriote limestone statue of a standing figure — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C08756. Public domain (CC0).

Description

Seen from behind, the pale grey limestone statue stands on a low base against a plain grey wall. Fine vertical carved lines cover the head and upper back, and a long straight fold of drapery hangs down the centre. A small figure on a pedestal stands at the right edge, and the rough-surfaced base supports the feet.
