Glyptic, cylinder seal (V.160)

Cylinder seal from Vouni, dark stone with carved surface, photographed upright on a card mount — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C05358k. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A dark, glossy cylinder seal stands upright and fills most of the frame against a pale grey card. Its rounded surface shows faint carved figures and lines, hard to make out in this photograph, with highlights picking out the carving on the right side. The pale mount and its border surround the object.
