Pottery White Painted II (A. 015:010)

White Painted II pottery jar with two handles and painted bands, from Amathus
Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C04730. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A tall two-handled vessel with a flaring rim, a narrow neck and a rounded body narrowing to a small foot, photographed against a plain grey backdrop. Thin painted lines encircle the neck, a hatched triangular motif sits below the neck, and a wavy line and broad dark bands run around the body. A crack runs down the left side of the body and across the lower part, but the vessel appears otherwise intact.
