Stones and a staircase during excavation at Vouni

Description
A trench is cut into the ground, with large pale limestone blocks scattered across its foreground and a low wall of squared stones along the back of the cut. Behind it a wide flight of stone steps runs across the picture, with a flat paved area above, a few broken walls and a heap of excavated earth at the right. Low hills and shrubs fill the background.
