Two-handled painted pottery vessel with hatched geometric decoration, photographed against a light background — Photograph: Swedish Cyprus Expedition, 1927–31. Medelhavsmuseet, Stockholm, C03740a. Public domain (CC0).

Description

A round-bodied vessel with a short upright rim, two loop handles on the shoulders and a low ring foot. The body is painted in dark bands and hatched panels: vertical strips, lozenges filled with cross-hatching, concentric circles and quatrefoil-like motifs. It stands on a pale surface, and the paint and surface show some wear and mottling.
